About LASA

The Lithuanian Accreditation and Standardization Agency is an institution that, since 1 January 2026, has been performing the functions of a national accreditation body and a national standardization institution, having started its activities after the reorganization of the Lithuanian Standardization Department, when it was merged with the National Accreditation Bureau, which took over all the rights and obligations of the Lithuanian Standardization Body.

Mission

To perform the functions of a national accreditation and national standardization institution, to improve and develop the accreditation system, in accordance with the European Union and other international documents regulating conformity assessment and accreditation, and, by developing national standardization, to promote economic growth and competitiveness.

Operational objectives

To strive for the accreditation results and the activities of accredited conformity assessment bodies – certification and control bodies, testing, calibration and medical laboratories – to be recognized at the international level.

To transparently provide services that meet the needs of business and consumers in the field of standardization and to disseminate knowledge about the benefits of standardization for business, society and government institutions, in order to promote entrepreneurship.
